Position Overview:
Responsible for ensuring that clients that come to the hospital are greeted courteously, phones are answered promptly and routed correctly, and client payments are handled per hospital policies and standards. Supervises CSRs for the hospital and serves as a CSR.
Essential Functions:
- Work on the floor alongside the CSR team as a CSR.
- Supervise receptionists, including evaluating performance quarterly, reviewing time time and attendance monthly, holding team member accountable, enforcing company policies and communicating new practices and policies regarding reception duties.
- Conduct in person interviews and make hiring recommendations to the Operations Manager.
- Act as the primary trainer for CSRs; working with the Operations Manager to develop training program.
- Schedule receptionists according to staffing needs adhering to the budget provided by the Operations Manager.
- Coordinate and administer monthly CSR department meetings.
- Partner with Operations Manager to write non-medical hospital protocols.
- Oversee cleaning, stocking, and inventory for CSR department.

Essential Position Functions:
- Comprehensive Patient Work-Ups
- Obtain a complete history in conjunction with the technician.
- Perform thorough physical exams, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and body condition score for each patient.
- Make notes on the master health form with any problems and diagnosis.
- Recommend all appropriate comprehensive diagnostic screenings.
- Correctly interpret diagnostic results.
- Client Communication and Education
- Communicate medical findings, recommended diagnostics, prognosis, and the recommended plan to the pet owner. Make notes in the chart to record all such conversations.

Position Overview: The veterinary assistant provides support to the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative work. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service.
Essential Functions:
- Provide compassionate care to all patients
- Greet patients and their owners as they arrive and show them to an examining room, taking the patient's weight and other vital signs upon arrival
- Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medication as directed by the licensed veterinary technicians (LVT's).
- Calm and soothe anxious patients
- Assist doctors and technicians with the administration of medications or with patient restraint

Berkeley Dog & Cat Hospital is a unique hospital offering Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Surgery and Dentistry. We looking for a full time General Practice Technician Supervisor to partner with the Leadership team to co-lead our busy and growing team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants in our various departments. Position Overview:
The Registered Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.

- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing and disinfecting holding and operating areas, storing sterile supplies, verifying shelf life, following standards and procedures, and in compliance with applicable legal regulations.
- Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes; update the database in an accurate and timely manner.
